We might as well keep going with the off-road racing portion of our venture to the Detroit Auto Show. Joining the 2017 F-150 Raptor and 1966 F-100 is a custom 2012 Ford F-150 Baja truck that raced in 2012 and 2013, it is powered by a stock, sealed EcoBoost engine. Meaning it is just like the engine that you might find in your 2011-2015 Ford F-150 with 365 horsepower and 420 ft-lb’s of torque. This truck did very well in its racing career as I’ll let Ford explain below:

Steve LaRoza entered the 2012 off-road season as one of the first to challenge the competition in a Ford F-150 powered by a stock, sealed EcoBoost truck engine.

Competing in both the Best in the Desert Series (which includes the longest off-road race in the USA) and the Valley Off Road Racing Association (VORRA) Series where he had to race against V8-powered trucks, LaRoza proved that the V6 EcoBoost truck engine could not only run with the top dogs, but beat them, as he went on to capture the VORRA Overall Points Championship in 2012 and again in 2013
