Unlike we previously reported on Ford’s F-250, F-350 and F-450 Super Duty Trucks, the 2016 model is likely to remain largely unchanged, with sources indicating an all-new 2017 Super Duty is more likely, with a release somewhere in late-2016. We initially thought it may come as soon as the 2016 model year with the aluminum bodied trucks that were spied testing, but it must have still been early on in their testing. What we also gleaned from those spy pictures is the fact that the new Super Duty may share its interior with the 2015 Ford F-150.

With the hugely increased payload and towing capability of the F-150, due to its use of Aluminum, we can expect the same from the Super Duty. The Super Duty at its outer limit also runs into the GWVR restrictions, with a lighter truck that means the portion of that restriction that the truck makes up will be smaller, allowing more weight to be towed. Sharing its interior with the F-150 should help with the cost of these new trucks, due to less development dollars and economies of scale.
