2013 Super Duty Platinum

In March Ford released the new F-Series Super Duty Platinum, a new top of the line model for 2013 available for the F-250, F-350 and F-450, exclusively in crew-cab configuration. This model joins the King Ranch and Lariat models as some of the most well-appointed Super Duty’s to date. In fact, I do believe it one-ups them by just a little bit.

The Platinum come’s with a chrome grille, including a chrome surround and perforated mesh on the inside. A body-color bumper with chrome tow-hooks. Furthermore there is chrome door handles, mirror caps, running boards and exhaust tip. To identify it as the Platinum model there is chrome lettering along the upper portion of the box on the sides and in addition to that, the tailgate also includes some satin-chrome trim. For wheels we have 20 inch polished aluminum.

The cabin is also very luxurious, with unique wood grain, heated leather steering wheel with wood grain accents. Further you’ll find wood grain in the center stack, instrumentation and door trim. There is also a new storage area on top of the dash with 2 USB ports, audio video jacks, SD card slot and a 12 volt port. You can of course also expect the seats to be fully adjustable, finished in leather along with the armrests and console. The seats and floormats are embroidered with “Platinum”.

Of course we can expect MyFord Touch in this top-of-the-line Super Duty which comes with all the fancy tools that brings along. Such as an 8 inch touch screen. The super duty does add dedicated/physical buttons for climate control, this will be nice for people that wear gloves or would like to bypass the touch screen. In my opinion the entire Ford-lineup should take note of this. I do not believe the death of buttons is a good thing.

This model will be available later this year in both 6.7 liter power stroke diesel form and in 6.2 liter gasoline form. It will be offered in Ruby Red, Kodiak Brown, Tuxedo Black, Ingot Silver and White platinum. Interiors can be had in Pecan and Midnight Black. I would expect this track to cost north of $60,000. If we get a Harley edition for the Super Duty, that would still slot above this in both luxury and price.
