Even though Carroll Shelby has passed away, the company lives on. They have diverted their attention from Mustang upgrades, temporarily, I’m sure and set their sights on the 2013 Ford SVT Raptor. Which in its stock form already puts out a formidable 434 horsepower and 411 ft-lb’s of torque. Shelby has gone and added a Whipple supercharger which is good for an additional 141 horsepower, bringing the grand total to a whopping 575 horse power. Not bad for Shelby’s first off-road vehicle.

In addition to a supercharger the Shelby package comes with updated graphics on the side of the truck with Shelby written down the side very prominently. You also will get a cold-air intake, a “stinger” exhaust system and gargantuan Borla stainless steel exhaust tips. For additional cooling there is two fans in front of the intercooler and Shelby airvents on the fenders of the truck.

Since the suspension, designed by SVT, including Fox racing shocks, was already very capable Shelby decided to leave that alone. Shelby is however considering offering a hardcore off-road suspension package, should there be enough interest, other options include 18 inch Shelby wheels, wearing 35 inch rubber, a Shelby roof-mounted lightbar and special front/rear bumpers.

Shelby made some additions to the interior as well. They ofcourse included the standard individualized ID-plate. But also a fuel pressure gauge and a boost gauge which were nicely integrated into the Raptor’s vents.

So what does all this cost? This Shelby package will run you an additional $17,995 over the price of a stock Raptor which start at $44,195 and as high as $52,000 for a crew-cab example. So you can end up spending in excess of $70,000 dollars including the optional Shelby wheels and any other extra’s you may want. But it may be worth it for a high quality, warrantied upgrade to your 2013 SVT Raptor. This will minimize the headaches you may experience if you go the fully custom route on the upgrades to your Raptor. And you also have to remember just how awesome it will be say you own a “Shelby Raptor”.
